About

Maranatha The House of God exists to bring TRUE LOVE, EXCITEMENT, and LIFE through Jesus Christ.

Loving God and loving people is our heart’s passion for the local church and abroad. As a bilingual church, we welcome people from all backgrounds. Our hope is that you feel at home with our church family. Maranatha was founded in 1974 by Pastors Nahum and Minerva Rosario in Chicago, Illinois.

Our
Beliefs

THE BIBLE

Although written by man, we believe that the Holy Spirit inspired the bible and it is the infallible Word of God himself to all of his children. The Holy Scriptures are everlasting; therefore being our only rule of faith, doctrine and conduct.
2 Peter 1:21; 2 Timothy 3:16-17

The trinity

God manifested in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Hebrews 1:8; John 10:13; Matthew 28:18-20

FATHER

He is the Creator of all the universe and life. Alpha and Omega, the great I AM, He who is the Holy of Holies. He is eternity.
Exodus 3:14; Leviticus 11:44-45; Numbers 23:19; Psalm 11:4-6; Malachi 3:6; Acts 17:28

SON

Jesus Christ is the Redeemer of our sins and mankind’s main intercessor who sits at the right hand of the Father in heaven.
1 Timothy 3:16; Phil 2:9-10; John 3:16; Romans 8:34

HOLY SPIRIT

God’s gift to man after the resurrection of Jesus Christ on earth. The Holy Spirit is our Comforter and Counselor. He convicts us of our sins, is righteous, and makes us more like Christ.
2 Corinthians 3:14-18; Matthew 3:16-17; John 16:7-8; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 3:16

SALVATION
We cannot save ourselves through religious works or good merits. Through faith in the grace of God and the complete work of our Lord Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary is what purifies us from our sins.
Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 6:3-4; John 3:16

BAPTISM
Baptism is a public announcement that we are a new creation in Christ Jesus. When you are baptized it is your proclamation that Jesus is your everything and are one with Him! The act of being baptized symbolizes your identification with Christ in three areas: His death (you are immersed in the water); His burial (being under the water); and lastly but most significant, His resurrection (when you come out of the water). The Bible declares in Romans 6:3-4, “Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were therefore buried with Him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.” The Bible shows us in Acts 2:38, “Peter replied, repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

THE CHURCH
The church is the heart of Jesus Christ. We are ambassadors of who He is on earth. Comprised of believers committed to following Christ in love, unity, prayer, and fellowship; the church practices the teachings of Jesus Christ and obeys all of His commandments. The church is truly the bride of Christ whom captures his heart every day.
2 Corinthians 5:20; Ephesians 5:25-27; Revelation 21:2, 9-11; 2 Corinthians 11:2-3; Hosea 2:19-20 [God speaking to His people as the bride]
